Unit 2 Intro and Reflection

Hi all!

My name is Ryan and I am a stay at home mom to two wonderful daughters that I affectionately call "Bean" and "Bug."  My husband is in the Army and we are stationed in Kansas.  It's not my favorite place, but for now it is home.

I am currently working on finishing up my Bachelors in Health Science.  I would love to work in the medical field, but with so many options I was unsure of where to start.  I feel this degree has helped give me insight into many different areas of health care.  Right now I am leaning most toward Public Health or Nursing.

I honestly struggled thinking of a reflective statement about myself.  I kept coming back to quotes that I felt fit me, rather than my own sentiment.  After a lot of thought I realized that was the whole point...to reflect.  I think in hindsight, I probably don't spend enough time doing so. I get so busy with the day to day activities, and have such a love for helping others, that I really do not allow for a lot of "me time."  With this in mind, I will focus on more relaxation and thought with myself.

The relaxation exercises did not really work for me, but I often have a hard time with my mind wandering.  With 2 kids, 2 dogs, and my husband (all currently home for Christmas break) it is difficult to concentrate on anything but the noise in the house!  I usually get my most peaceful time on a normal work/school day when they are all gone and I do my workout.  I really tried to focus on it, but it was not the right time.  I think it would be far more enjoyable if I had complete peace and quiet.

I am really enjoying this class, so far.  Imaging linking your mind with your body for positive physical health is an amazing concept!
